Heifer Read to Feed 2021-22 4 Reading Challenges: Discover Endless Possibilities through Reading
2021-10-12

This year, the program has been redesigned to offer 4 types of Reading Challenge for students to take part in one or more items, with an aim to building a vibrant experience and inspiring them to think out-of-the-box to explore more reading options.

A portion of donations collected in the academic year 2021-22 will  support children from grassroot families by giving away qualitied Chinese and English story books, while the remaining will be pooled into the project which aims to improve the livelihoods of 840 rural families from Bangluozhen of Tongwei County in Gansu. We will assist rural cooperatives to establish beef cattle production industry, as well as implement circular agriculture to grow high-value crops like Chinese medicinal herbs by adopting ecologically-friendly technologies such as silage and compost, so as to enhance production efficiency, increase income sources, and improve the environment.
Heifer will also facilitate support from the government and enterprises to jointly help the community achieve sustainable development. In this project, a community center is specially built, providing various services for the elderly to meet their needs.
